Why have I never heard of this place before?!!!
We just visited our son in Charlotte this weekend and passed the sign for Gastonia! Of course my husband would not like stopping. I'll just have to go without him next time!

You don't want to be there on a weekend, too many frantic people. Gotta have this, need to get some of that, Sally get your brother from under the tables. George!! Stop rollin those rolls of fabric down the isle!!

Stick to the weekdays. You can breath in the aura of the place before comencing to the fabric fondlin

Just back from Mary Jo's , oh my sensory overload! they had so many marbles-- blenders and batiks in sooooooooooo many colors. Walked in and totally forgot every color of fabric I had back home!! Saw a pattern on their website that was scrappy bowties with a cheddar cheese color background talk about the yellow popping. Didn't do too much damage (little over 100.00) could have spent 500.00 easy. They had one line of fabrics that looked like tiny honeycomb, got two different colors. Will take pictures when I get home and post. Made it to Long Creek Mills. Drove by it the first time its a gray bldg on Webb St. Very friendly people. DH was fascinated. Gave us free thread and scissors for thread clipping. Embroidery thread heaven as well as long arm thread. Throw in serger and the kitchen sink on everything else! Clerks said Sat. at MJ"S was a madhouse, thru the week probably better. No sales of any kind on fabric, they did have Michael Miller, Kaffee Fassett and Amy Butler to name a few. Many fabrics show in Quilt mags.

We were at Mary Jo's Monday at 3 pm for a couple of hrs and then back tuesday when it opened until around 3 and then to Long Creek Mills. Lets just say I spent boogo bucks 4 figures. We had a great time. My friends found things they didn't even know they needed. We are already planning to go back in the spring.

The rain kept me away Tuesday. Might make it there tomorrow. Hope I find things I didn't know I needed. Guess I don't have to yell Marco when I'm there. Glad u guys have a safe trip home.

Enjoy ladies! I live in SC and try to make it to Mary Jos at least twice a year... they are so special and helpful and you can get on their website and "shop ahead". First time I went, I forgot to bring a DETAILED list and went into shock... bought stuff I couldn't live without and stuff I forgot until I got home. Oh well, was fantastic fun anyway! Have fun.
