Hi Quilters,
Had the opportunity to spend last weekend in Lancaster and saw some amazing quilts. In one of the shops I saw a large table centerpiece that was made from the folded star pattern. I have made trivets and hot pads over this pattern and I would love to find this pattern to make these larger sized folded stars. It probably measured 18" in diameter. This was in a shop that was selling patterns, fabric and all the quilting notions.. When I inquired about the pattern for the large star piece - the woman in the shop looked at me like I had asked about something that I should not have asked about. I did find a book that was printed in 1981 - but it is no longer available.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance that you could give me. Many thanks -

Literally (folded) star struck,
Sue in PA

by the way, you would have to start with a much bigger piece of paper.
i think the width should be the same as the size you want to end up with. you'll have to experiment with that.

Happy Monday to all,
Thanks for the information - not exactly what I am looking for - I will continue the search, that is part of the fun. Keep me in mind should any of you come across the pattern for this beautiful table piece.
Thanks
Sue

I have a pattern for a folded star wall hanging that is mounted in a 1 in hoop. Is that closer to what you're looking for?

Sue,

Is it possible that the star was 16 1/2" in diameter, and the book - by Elaine DeLancey Shinners, published by Craft Course? If so, PM me - I'll pop it in the mail to you. :-D
