It says to cut 3 1/2" x 18" however the WOF for my FQs once squared is 17 1/2". I'm screwed, aren't I?

I'm looking at the cutting diagram from "Turning Twenty Again" and it looks like you will do diagram 2 and it looks like you need no less than 16 1/2. I think that you could do it if "Turing Twenty" uses the same blocks.

Is your fabric washed? I had this problem with fat quarters I pre washed with the yellow brick road pattern. I ended up using extra fat quarters.

You don't have to square up the full fat quarter, you can cut the strip and then square up each strip before you subcut it, that way you may be able to get your 18" in.

the pattern is assuming you are using pieces of fabric that measure 18" x 20" you can; look over the whole pattern and see where those 18" may be sub cut into smaller pieces, if they are, you will be able to cut your smaller pieces out of your 17 1/2" fabric, you may need do a 'turning 21" (use one more fq to have all of your pieces.

Well, I did need 18" wide and since some of the pieces were too short, I just made up my own pattern using what was already cut. You can see the result here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-68570-1.htm
