ok...dumb question..i know turnovers are 6" but when I make them do i use a 6" square? i think i would..i know...dumb question...and now that i've measured it out i think i have my answer!

Not too dumb. I always thought turnovers were something from Pepperidge Farm that you baked for dessert.

thats what I thought turn overs were too? what REALLY are turn over??????

LOL .... were a little confused there for a minute !! Yum :-D

Do you cut a 6 inch strip then cut to 6 inch blocks or do you need fewer than this, or are you fussy cutting??

Interesting question! If the two sides are 6 inches, then you would use a 6 inch strip and squares. I have never purchased any, so I am not sure.

It depends :wink:
If you are sewing two turnovers together ( half sq triangle block), you will lose a 1/2 inch (seam allowances), so if you were to sew that to a square that is 6" the square would be too big.

it was on a missouri star video for a pinwheel quilt...it says use the turnovers..all it ever says is a 6" triangle..guess i'll play with scraps!

I'm pretty sure turnovers are 6" squares cut in half. Which, now that I think about it, would sew up to an odd size.
