I thought I had saved an e-mail or document that explained, with pictures, how to finish the binding with a diagonal seam that lays flat, eliminating the "bulge" of excess fabric that is created when you tuck one end into the other to finish ... but of course, now that I need it, I can't find what I'm looking for!
Can anyone help me, either with directions or referring me to a site where I can find out how to do it?
Thanks so much!
Joanne

Here's a link to the one I keep by my sewing machine:

Hope this helps - I have to look at it each and every time I do binding

This should lead you to a menu of different videos. The lady is wearing a pale green shirt in the video thumbnail.

you can get a "quilt binding" tool at the Fons & Porter website that works perfectly EVERY TIME. It's only a few dollars and worth every penny.

Try the link above if you're looking for video instructions to do a flat mitered corner.

Hope this is what you are looking for,

This is the link to the lesson Shelly posted. It was the best technique I had ever tried. No lumps or bumps and ended up looking great!

I remember this one, and I agree that it is the simplest method that I have ever tried :D

Thanks, guys! I've taken a quick look at some of the sites you sent, and you have answered my question. I knew you would!

I do it the way that Fancy Foot's link shows. I do believe these are the clearest directions for closing the binding that I have ever seen. It is very hard to find where you ended.
