I really like both colours, maybe a little more partial to the first (red one) But I have found over the years, that I really enjoy a new pattern once, the second time I try it I have lost interest, I know how to do it, and it becomes boring, I don't have to concentrate, or really read the instructions, half the fun, is really having to turn your brain on and use your thinker-upper to make it turn out just like in the picture. Besides there are so many other new patterns that I want to try, that I will never get through them all in 2 life times. So to repeat one seems like it just slows me down. Carry on, you're doing a wonderful job !

I have found that I need variety, too. I get bored too easily doing the same pattern over and over. BTW, I happen to like your second quilt better. Probably, because I prefer the cool tones. :P :P :P

I checked McCalls website and ordered the 2010 May-June issue which contained the Kinabalu pattern.
