I agree that minimizing the sashing and reusing should make a lovely quilt. Enjoy your treasures!

Isn't that wonderful! My grandmother had a quilt with these butterflies - maybe she used the same pattern. I like your idea of making the sashing narrower, too.

And your grandmother's machine - how LOVELY!!! I will hope that it's gorgeous and completely functional and much better than you expect!

What wonderful surprises! I look forward to seeing the finished quilt. Your idea of reducing the sashing is great. Enjoy the machine. It is a treasure to receive something that belonged to your grandmother.
