I've heard several mentions on various groups about the "yellow brick road" quilt pattern. I did a search on Bing and just came up with instructions but no pictures or tutes. I need to see how to do something to understand the technique. I thought I'd try the Board to see if anyone has a link to this quilt and technique.

The yellow brick road was the very first quilt I ever made. I took a class and that was the pattern we did.

It is very easy and pretty. I have made 3 of these quilts. Sorry all I have is the pattern, but I'm sure someone can help you from here.

This isn't a technique, it's a pattern. You can buy the pattern online and there will be a finished quilt pictured on the pattern. Also use the search feature here to find finished quilts using this pattern.

I've made many of the Yellow Brick Road quilts. After you get the pattern and if you have questions I can help you. The pattern is just nice big squares and rectangles. It is good for learning basic quilting skills as quarter inch seam, pressing and joining rows. You will lay out several different blocks and turn them until you are pleased with the look and then just sew the rows together. The pattern shows you how to bring everything together with a border. pm me if you have any trouble. Have fun.

I bought this pattern but have never used it...or at least not yet. My local quilt store told me it was the most popular selling pattern, so you should have no trouble finding it. I think mine cost $8.

Isn't that beautiful! I love the look but wouldn't begin to know how to put it together and circumstances won't allow me to buy the pattern right now but maybe I'll be able to find it at the library in a book.
