Default ?? Up and down Jelly Roll Did I do this right???

I just did my first jelly roll. it's long ways. I only had 2 rolls of 21 stripes( 5.00 on a piece on clearance at Walmart). Did I do something wrong?? or Do I just need more Jelly Roll. They only had 2.

Thanks Becky

If it's super long and skinny you need to sew and cut it one more time. 40 strips is the normal number for the jelly roll quilts.

That looks right to me, my proportions were about the same- I just held it up so the stripes were horizontal! Very pretty.

Yours may be slightly different if you used 42 strips instead of 40.

If you like the stripes running lengthwise, then stick with what you have!
Nothing wrong with it that way.

It looks great. You could add borders if you wanted larger. Teresa

It looks great. Just use your creative license so that your stripes are vertical, rather than horizontal. Isn't quilting wonderful? Just make up the rules as you go along!

I wouldn't rip either - it looks great. Add a border and call it DONE! (I am working on 2 right now and one is a little bigger and one is a little smaller.)

Me neither. It is beautiful colors. To finish, add a narrow dark border, then a wider pretty border and call it done.
