My machine is "squeaking" - when I sew it just starts squeaking....its inside the cover - which I took off and I tried to oil any moving parts but its still squeaking....

its starting to affect me like that cricket you know is in the house but you can't find....

any suggestions? the troubleshooting guide of my manual didn't address this!

I hate to say this, but my singer is doing the same thing. I can't figure out why. It seems to be coming from the area above the needle, not a belt or something to that effect. Hope some one has an answer. I'll be watching to find a cure. Thanks for posting this Pam.

it may be two non-moving part rubbing together.

I have a computerized machine and it does this from time to time. The only way I find to fix it is to take it in to the shop for a regular service and cleaning. Sometimes I keep using it and it goes away for awhile. lol

They can never tell me what is causing it.

    Hope you figure it out.

Mine isn't computerized. It's a singer Heavy Duty Quilting machine. I've cleaned it and it still does it. I haven't been able to figure it out -yet. Sure hpe someone here has an answer for us. Thanks

I don't know, maybe it needs oil? Am curious to see what others have to say.

EDITED: Do you know where the squeak is coming from?

The noise in mine is in the part above the needle near the upper tension. Still haven't found out why .

See now I feel like I'm at the car dealership explaining the "noise" - its in the machine :) mine is when the needle goes up and down - can't pin point it further than that...I'm just going to take it in - I've cleaned and oiled it and it still makes the noise!
