Hi to all you wonderful quilters,
I have hand pieced a quilt top for a double size bed. The center are nine patches on point. There are then 3 borders -- each 6" wide. The center of these borders is made up of all piano keys -- almost 100 total in various fabrics from my stash. I have quilted the first (inner) border with a floral pattern. My question is: how do I quilt the piano keys? They are 6" in width x 3". I have not yet decided what to do for the outermost border..... All quilting is to be hand quilted.
Happy holidays to everyone.

piano keys are busy enough without alot of quilting, I would just do outline quilting 1/4 from all seams. If I was machine quilting them I would do SID.
Would love to see a picture of the quilt:)

This would be my first choice. You can also quilt a single line down each key if you don't want to do a lot of quilting.

I do only hand piecing and hand quilting. It makes a connection to our forebears when I think of history. Thanks for all your advice. I do not have a digital camera so sadly cannot post a photo. Phyllis Carol

Do you have a friend who has a digital camera? If so, could she take a picture and send it to your email account? I'd love to see your quilt. You show me yours with your piano keys and I'll show you mine!

Now why does that sound dirty? :?
