Has anyone used fleece to make a block to go into a regular quilt? I'm doing an Alabama football throw for my daughter and haven't found what I want for the center in cotton-I did find fleece with the "big Al" elephant big enough for the center block. I wondered if I could back it with cotton and work it into the quilt or does anyone have any ideas?

You might applique the "Big Al" on the center block. Just a thought...

I have never used fleece for just one block but I have backed cotton quilts with fleece and it worked fine.

Stablize first, then you could use it as a center block. I don?t see why that wouldn't work. I just used fleese for a backing and didnt have any problems at all. I used my sewing machine fancy stitches to quilt.

thanks-that's kind of what I thought-stabilize like the t-shirt quilts-I've not done one but I've seen instructions.
