I work for Husqvarna Viking and we don't know about future promotions like the current Sapphire 875 promo in advance.

I know how you feel. I missed saving $150 by ONE DAY!! I bought a Bernina yesterday and found out after that there are coupons available to save $150 on machines in the same price range :-(( Bummer! I think the store owner should have told me. As I was leaving she gave me the flier and said that if I wanted to order the BSR there would be a $50 coupon for that.

It's like seeing the coat selling for $220 in December reduced by 75% in February. A total bummer if you bought in December! (But I didn't--I was raised by a DM who shopped fornext Christmas on the day after Christmas toy sale.)

Cut the saleswoman a bit of slack--we don't know if she knew....or what she knew....and if you were happy with your new machine---be happy with it still!

I don't think it would be confrontational to ask the dealer if she would be willing to match the offer now. If she says no, you're not any worse off. And you might gain something.

I agree. Ask for the manager and explain, had you known, you'd have waited 2 months. See if they respond favorably. THEY SHOULD GIVE SOME KIND OF DISCOUNT!

Don't you hate it when that happens? It seems like any time I make a major purchase, the item goes on sale within the next few weeks. DH bought an iPad2 last Friday. He asked if they were going to have lower prices On the iPad2 when the new iPad came out. He knew there was to be an announcement about the new ones in March sometime. The sales person assured him that they didn't know when the new models would be released and that they would probably be higher in price so the price on the older model would probably remain the same. So, of course, they announced the new model Wed. and said the price on the iPad2 was being dropped $100. Five days later! We have an iPad workshop tomorrow morning at the Apple store. DH plans to ask them to adjust the price and refund $100. They probably won't, but it is worth a try.

Usually they will do something for you. When I bought my I-phone they wanted to give my a gift certificate for me turning in my old phone. I told them that I really didn't buy that many electronics and asked if there was anything else they could do for me since I wasn't told when I purchased my phone that evening that I could trade in my old one for cash credit toward my purchase. So the sales person ended up returning my phone and repurchasing it with my credit. I was handed back the cash difference! Was I happy! Ask them, it doesn't hurt to ask if there is anything they could do for you. If not, if returning the machine is acceptable then do it. They will do something for you. Or you turn around and repurchase the same one! I've done that before. They have to adhere to the return policy (You usually have so many days to handle a return) if not tell them how dissappointed you are with them and you'll call the company. Tell the company that you did inquire when you made your purchase and they didn't know when the next special would be. Since its been such a short while you were wondering if they would be anything they could do for you. They might-but your store should really make it good somehow!! Be very nice and sweet and say you would like to continue to support their brand in the future. Oh yes and it always helps to talk to the manager if the sales person won't cooperate with you! It's worked out several times for me. It doesn't cost them anything but it will keep a happy customer! I hope you get the table! It's the principle of it all. You deserve it after purchasing your machine.!

Most stores have a PRICE gaurantee for 14-30 days. Ask it most certainly wouldn't hurt. If not look at the return policy and return it and then repurchase it at the lower price. If not what I have done is even purchase a different one and return the higher priced item. It just depends on the store and their policy! 100.00 dollars is a lot of money not to get credit for!

My Janome dealer will accept trade ins on a newer model for a year after purchase for the purchase price. That way, if a new model comes out you can upgrade. It's a very nice policy for just this reason. My philosophy is to go back and ask, because if they say no you are no worse off. Good luck!
