the Eden Rose is a new release, so I don't know too much about them. Viking has a good reputation, so I would think that it would be a good machine. I also know that they just put out a cheaper Eden Rose that is all mechnical, like our old die-hards. The one you mentioned is electronic.

I have 5 vikings. I love them all and I have never had to repair them. I went online and this model seems to have the sensor system which is so nice. I would go back and take your own material and give it a test drive. My Vikings make my sewing so much easier.....and reliable

All Vikings are good and on the very rare occasion that you may have a problem they are quick to fix it. Make sure you have a good dealer that will help make sure there aren't any issues. I wouldn't trade my dealer for anything. It's the farthest away shop for me to go to but I go there more than any other one; rather sewing, embroidery or classes. The people are all so nice. Not a grumpy one in the bunch.

I have the viking tribute 140c which I think is almost the same as this one. I believe the Eden is its replacement. I love my machine so much. The only thing I had an issue with at first is that there is very little space in front of the needle. But that was solved when I got my extension table.

I have a Viking that was bought in 1972 and it is still running like a champ. It is such a work horse and is used for quilting, garment making, patching jeans, and just about anything else. I have never oiled it and have seldom taken it in to the shop for repair/cleaning. I highly reccommend this brand and hope you have as good luck as I have with mine.
