I just finished a quilt block called "Wyoming Valley". It had an interesting feature called a "loose Goose". Has anyone ever run across it before? Also How do you handle directions for a scant 1/4" seam? Stitch along the outside of the seam allowance line?
I know the wyoming valley is somwhere in the northeast,(?) but I decided to make this relate to the state of Wyoming. Their state animal is the buffalo.
The loose goose is the blue triangle above the green chevron. It is folded. It is hard to tell on the picture.

OH very smart looking. Great colors, too. The black triangles look a bit like arrows, to me or arrow heads. Very fitting. and earlylace, you are a trip. LOL

Blessings,
Ruth

Beautiful block - the colors you chose go together beautifully and the bison head sets it off nicely. Please post the finished quilt!
For general info: Wyoming Valley refers to the valley region in Pennsylvania around the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area. A lesser-known Wyoming Valley also exists in western New York in Wyoming County. (I'm an ex-NY State resident who was born in PA!).
The Wyoming Valley block is also on Quilter's Cache, but does not use the loose goose technique (which, BTW, is a really interesting technique and avoids the center seam).

Sorry, I am not making a quilt. I just see an interesting block and make one. Then put it in a box with the rest of my sample quilt blocks. Some day I may make a quilt from my blocks..............
