Default Question About Quilting and Sewing Machines

Hi all-

My name is Jason as my step-mom was an avid quilter for 3-4 years before passing away last Sept. She had a few machines that I am hoping some experts would be able to provide some insight on. Eventually I need to sell the items but I know this forum has a rule with respect to new members posting items for sale. My intent is not to sell a bunch of stuff but I thought it may may sense to go to a place where people actually are passionate and care about the machines (that is what my stepmom would have wanted. Anyways these are the items:

1) PFAF hobby 1200 quilting machine. It looks like a sewing machine with an electronic display that says Q bot. It also has a really long table like structure attached to it.
2) Baby lock model blg2 sewing machine. It says elegante on it.
3) PFAF hobby lock 4842.

Just hoping some subject matter experts can help me out with any info. Should I sell at garage sale, take to store, sell on Craigslist. What is a fair value? Thanks again all and any info is appreciated.

Check eBay "completed listings" to get a general idea of what these things have sold for on eBay (in the last 3 months). Anyone can list an item at any price; it is what the item actually sells for that is a better indication of value.

#1 on your list sounds like a machine quilting frame setup. It helps to determine the brand of frame (the long table like structure).

If you live in an urban area, Craigslist might be your best bet. Second best might be a sewing machine dealership. These are unlikely to get much at a garage sale.

Where did your Step Mom purchase these? Under the circumstances, perhaps they might buy them from you. At the least, they should ber able to help guide you on the values.

Another local source of inco for you, could be the quilt shops she frequented and/or Guilds and sewing groups in which she was involved.

By chance do you have a family member or friends that may appreciate the opportunity to purchase them.
