Lynda, your bag is so much like spring it makes me smile. I envy those who are already finished, they are wonderful.

Carolyn, thank you again for your help and hosting this retreat.

Thanks Dedemac. That's what I wanted, something cheerful and I love daisies. I think I am going to put a bit of bling on the tab, i'll show another picture when I get it on and one of the inside. This was really fun to make.

Beautiful diamonds, Carolyn, such gorgeous fabrics. Well worth persevering with 'all those stupid angles' eh?

Thanks everyone, for your nice comments and congratulations on your finishes. Stunning bags. I will finish today and am already planning the next one. I love the pattern, thank you Carolyn and will also use it again and again. I've decided to stay with 'elegant' and keep this one just black and white. Good suggestion for the dud one though, also thought I might use it for FMQ practice, can do with plenty of that.

Started over with actually kind of following directions. I have no idea why my brain told me to cut the main parts at 13 1/2 inches instead of 18 1/2 inches...you can never trust me with math! Well, too late, just made it a bit smaller and it is now becoming a purse

I out a zippered section on the outside front after having had cannibalized an old plastic purse (and people call me a hoarder!).

Here's the feet. I borrowed a section out of an old shoe tote and secured it with the feet on the inside for a sturdy bottom.

Here's the back with a little cell phone pocket. I think I may need to adjust the strap position to accommodate the lining and trim.

This is going to be the lining I will finish tomorrow. That front zipper completely thrashed me!

Love everyone's so far and love that some of you (most) can follow directions!

Wow, Sapphire, your tote turned out great. I love your fancy stitching.

Traci, you did a great job on your purse! I like the way you did your straps.

Carolyn, your diamonds are looking gorgeous. Those blues really grab me.

I love all the great totes (and modified ones). I was excited to make this tote until I saw I large it was. But, after seeing some of these modified bags, I need to pick out another type of fabric and make me one. I have a couple of specific yardages set aside for a new purse but don't want it this large.

Thanks Carolyn for doing this retreat !! Maybe we could do something "diamonds" in a future retreat. I really like those.
