Hope I'm not too late, but I'm in as well. I had a very late start to the day, I am nursing a very painful stye in my left eye and I spent most of the morning with a warm compress on it and now I'm in my quilting room.

I don't have much sewing I can do, I have fabric being shipped to me that I won't get until next week, I think, so I'm using scraps to work on putting diamonds on hexagon flowers for the batik quilt I'm doing. I'm also hip-deep in designing four different quilts in EQ5 and trying to figure out if I need more True Grips since I have a set of triangle templates plus a 1x6 in. ruler coming in on Friday.

Happy New Year and thank you, Raggiemom for hosting!

Last night, I got the top & back done for a new pattern for comfort quilts. Then figured new sizing. Ready to start cutting and sewing a new quilt top.

First, must move a project for DH to have a space to fix blinds. And figure out dinner.

Last night he chose and cooked dinner. It was nice to eat someone elses food.

Let's see if I can post a picture of in-progress? I'll be glad when the web geniuses are finished tweaking the site, posting a picture has a few too many steps.

I got the first row of the quilt done. It only has three of the star blocks and it took me about 4 hours to sew them and put them together with the three 4-patch blocks. The first two star blocks took some ripping.... It's all a learning process for me so it's good but I think I'll stop while I'm ahead.

Thanks to Raggiemom for hosting the day. Dedemac I love your fabric.

Tish05 that is awesome! Yes Thank you Raggiemom for hosting this.

I was able to get all the filler blocks and borders cut, only one screwed up cut. I really dislike cutting length wise but it is better for borders. And I still had enough fabric even with the oops. I'm getting better at figuring what I need for yardage so I don't end up with too much stash at the end. Think I will do some cleaning in the sewing room and finish the top tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!

You're all welcome!

Railroadersbrat--I've had a sty before and they're no fun. Hope your eye is better soon.

I am so happy--I am all caught up on my mystery quilt along (Ticker Tape Parade by Michelle Renee Hiatt) The final clue will be released Friday and I am curious to see how this all turns out. It has been a good day here. I made Cornish game hen, homemade fries and scalloped corn today so DH wouldn't starve!

Hope to see you all again on the 17th for the next regularly scheduled VQW.

Trying to post a picture of the block I worked on this afternoon. Good, it worked! This is the January 2020 BOM from Sew Incredibly Crazy that I am working on. Got all the Xmas decorations down, so not much time left for the sewing room. Enjoying seeing what everyone is working on.jan-2010-sew-incred001_edited-small-.jpg

It didn't take long for me to sew 200 tiny 4 patches for Omigosh - because each seam is only 1.5 inches ! So having finished that, I decided to work on some of the trickier blocks of my crazy quilt challenge which is supposed to be finished in April. I love making these blocks, but the ones that have a curve (or several) are quite challenging!

Well, I've finished all the sub units for the Merry Mayhem mystery, but haven't gotten about half the blocks together or the top sewn yet. Except for a two hour break mid-day for church and luncheon, I've sewn from 9 o'clock this morning. I'm ready to quit! And I too hope the IT folks will fix this site. I get a headache trying to read it.

I love seeing projects so thanks for sharing pictures.

I didn't get to my sewing machine today like I planned. But the Gophers did upset Auburn! I was so exhausted after watching the game, cheering, etc, that I just did odds and ends that needed to be done some time anyways. LOL!

I got the few Christmas decorations I had out put away. My substitute bag is organized for tomorrow. I have my clothes ready to go and know what I will take for lunch. So all is good.

oksewglad: Wahoo, Gophers! Krisb: If I lived in Florida, I would have gone to the game with you.

Almost time for the Timberwolves game. I might as well make it a reclining chair evening.
