Yes...yes! I finally get to participate this VQW. I just missed your post yesterday morning as I log into the QB each morning around 6 am with a cup of coffee and then done by 7 EST so instead of sewing yesterday, I worked diligently in organizing and rearranging some things in my sewing room. Today I will join in on the Merry Mayhem mystery beginning at 10 am. I also have a charity quilt to work on and would like to get done soon.

I love everyone’s motivation and enthusiasm this VQW...Happy New Year.

Just need to finish up the background quilting on my Helen Godden Magic Mushrooms quilt. Then I will pull out the fabric paints and add the accent colors. I’m also trying to decide which of my 23 UFOs to pull out and get completed for my January finish as I am once again joining the UFO challenge and committing to finish 1 UFO each month.

Happy New Year everyone!

I have an unexpectedly busy week-end but will try to get in some quilting too. I have a UFO that needs its binding! If I can squeeze more time from other "busyness" there are plenty" of WIPs that need my attention.

The last 2 weeks I've been basting tops that are in my ufo tote, and so far I've gotten 3 table runners and 7 tops basted, so today I'm going to be quilting. I still have several more tops to baste, but quite frankly, I'm tired of basting. LOL

Poco, basting is my least fav part of the quilting process. I love sewing binding since that is the last step.

Battle Axe - could you please show a pix of one of your Christmas Tree blocks. I would love to use up my Xmas fabric on a project like that. All I am working on this weekend is washing a backing for a black/white quilt top I finished about a month ago. I will not put it together to quilt until Christmas is put away. I do decorate quite a bit for Christmas so that will be a little while before I can start my quilt project. That is the only UFO I have to do so feel pretty good about that.

What did you think of the class? The price of the class is a little high for my pocketbook so I would need to know it was definitely worthwhile before investing. Can you post a picture of what you have done so far and share your thoughts on the class? I'm talking about the mushroom quilt. Thank you.

I'm in. Getting my embroidery machine threaded because I lost my sewing mojo during this pandemic, and It has sat idle long enough.I want to embroider a Winnie the Pooh for a quilt I'm constructing with the same motifs. Also planning a lap size quilt for a nursing home that my Guild is participating in to cheer up the residents. Hope to at least get that cut.

I am joining late. Altho I did turn on my machine yesterday (it sat idle for a week as I took a break) and made a block for our Bag Ladies (like a BOM but we get someone else's bag each month and make a block for them out of their focus and background fabric. Eventually I will get my bag back with--hopefully--12 completed blocks)

I have a box of homespuns, some scraps, some larger pieces, that needs to get out of my house. I am planning on a couple of donation yellow brick road type tops. I have no idea on the age of the fabric, and since it seems to bother my allergies, I am going to wear a mask while working with it.

If you have any other hints or suggestions for working with this type of fabric, please pass them on.

I have finished quilting, made and attached binding to 75"x88" scrap quilt, need to pick up in sewing room badly.

I have someone else's UFO to do something with. It is huge 90" x 150" and the only thing I can think to do is cut the project in half and made two almost identical quilts each 75" x 90". Fortunately the piecing is large blocks which will allow mw to do this, but I'm going to have to be creative with borders and some sort of backing.
