I bawled like an absolute baby when I found the pattern at Hobby Lobby years and years ago. I was getting some funny looks until other women came to see what was wrong and saw what I was holding in my hand, then they understood.

The whole wall hanging is supposed to be one solid piece of cloth for the cross-stitch, but I decided to break it up by the pattern, there's six pages in all, so six different panels. I'll break them up with some sashing and a few quilt blocks, I won't know that part until I've got it all laid out. I do know I plan to use royal blue, maybe a soft lavender and then either a peach or pale yellow for the borders and sashing and I'm thinking each panel will be framed with a light grey piping. Panels will be backed with white fabric to keep the batting from poking through and then I'm either going to find a quilt design I like, or design my own.

I intend to donate it to my niece's vet office she works at, they do some wonderful things for families that have to say good-bye to their fur babies and I think the wall hanging would be perfect for them. It's going to take some time, though, I used to be a pretty fast stitcher, but arthritis, carpal tunnel and tendon lock has slowed me way down, even with my compression gloves.

Thank you Raggiemom for hosting. Yeah me, I'm on vacation as we type. 😃 I work in health care, and have had no break due to Covid infact busier than usual. It's been over a year since I've taken a solid week's vacation. I have been working on finishing up the BLM quilt someone ordered from me. My goal is to have it done tomorrow. Front is all pieced except the last border, it's cut and I plan to get it sewn on on the am. Then it's sandwiching time so I can finish it. Hoping to post pictures this weekend once it's completed.
sounds like people are busy sewing this weekend, I'll keep checkng in to see some eye candy 👍

Have my backing fabric ready but the batting I ordered hasn’t arrived. It’s somewhere in Goodyear, AZ, that’s around 2 hours from our place. So UPS now says it won’t be delivered until Monday <sigh>. Well, it looks like this project will have to wait. Good thing I have my BH Unity blocks to finish and leader/enders

I'm in this weekend, working on the binding on a UFO. I have a present exchange tomorrow and need to bake some cookies but rest of the time this weekend will be spent stitching down binding!

I'm in!

I finished my three Christmas stockings last night, except for the hanging loops. I intend to get Christmas decorations with the owner's name on to act as a label - this will not happen in time for this Christmas now (I thought of it too late, lol), but should be doable by Christmas 2021...

So today I am alternating between some felt animal ornaments for the tree (stocking stuffers), and progressing the handquilting of my pumpkins wallhanging.

Happy sewing all!

I am back for another week-end of quilt related tasks.
1. Deliver three quilts as gifts
2. Make another set of potholders
3. Make re-usable fabric gift bags
4. Make pineapple pillow top
5. As always, clean up the works space again.
6. Begin quilting on UFO

On your mark, get ready...... Go!

I got half of the hanging sleeve hand stitched onto Big Butterfly, hope to finish it today. Also finished the dye painting for the Magic Mushrooms course and started the outline work- will finish that this morning and watch next lesson to see where to go from there. Also have 3 more hanging sleeves to make and hand stitch to wall hangings, then will print labels for the 4 quilts and stitch them on. May or may not get those done this weekend, but it sure would feel good to get them finished and off the pile of undone things.

Have one more present to wrap for DH and also his Birthday present to wrap. Then doggie presents to wrap and put in stocking. Then I’ll be done for holiday stuff.

Default Saturday Update

Well, after losing my fiancé for an overnight trip to a friend's we hadn't seen in years, I was able to get a lot more accomplished than I originally thought I would. The dog and hydrant are done, now I'm working on a cat and mouse above the second set of words on the panel. He'll be back later today, so I'm stitching until he gets home.

I did remember I bought some black fabric from Walmart for my other niece's quilt I'm hoping to start in January, I might get that out and washed, dried and pressed, but not sure about that. January is still far enough away that I'm not completely pressed for time to get anything done.

Love these VQW's, they have definitely become a staple in my house.
