Its been so hot here in NY that I got nothing done yesterday - spent it all in the pool. I'm hoping to do a bit more quilting of the Mets quilt and then cut some fabric for the boomerang. I've also been organizing the stash so I think that is also a good use of time.

Had several projects that were stalled. Just couldn't push myself to fix/complete. Today, finished borders, took pictures and packed it for the LA. Took picture of 2 more quilts. Fixed the rotation on 1 square in the BOW. pinned it back up and started the borders. Tomorrow, I want to get something quilted. I think the 1st prioity is the one for a friend. She started 2 quilts for grands before covid. Now she just wants to see them. They're about 8 hrs drive apart. First chance of loosening restrictions here in Ca., she plans to meet them 1/2 way. So better get it ready.
Tomorrow's church. Plan is to open sanctuary and outdoors w/ pastor at entry door. I've heard of 2 cases in our area. The lake (about 3 mi away) has been very busy with vacationers, so were hoping they don't bring covid with them.
So good to have VQW and see/hear how everyones doing.

Progress Report:
HST (UFO) quilt quilted and binding on but need to finish stitching to the back. Should finish easily today and take on the rest of my original list. So many finishes and such progress by the group this month. I am impressed. Love this week-end of focused work on our projects.

No sewing yesterday, but I did get my batting scraps under control, cleaned off my small cutting table so it can actually be used and cut more t-shirt scraps into strips for the t-shirt shag rug. Oh, and cut away the excess batting from the trapunto area on the butterfly. After cutting it away I wished I’d left it to be quilted down like I usually do- oh well! Today I’ll sandwich it and see if I can get the quilting done.

All of your projects sound wonderful! This has been so helpful to me. Thanks everyone! I'm definitely in on the next one.
I've almost got the binding done on my project. It was nice to listen and watch baseball yesterday as I worked. I really needed some positive vibes as the stress has been getting to me the last couple of days. I have a town run to do today, but I should be able finish my quilt tonight. I only have about 15 or 16 inches of binding left to hand sew. Then, my very, first quilt will be done! Yes!! It only took me 10 years...LOL.

Thanks for the picture of Cheryl's quilt Rob, really like the colours and design.
Will make time to tackle some more FMQ later, I am using a little thicker fabric than before, so will continue with my learning curve, thanks for the tips RFF1010

I am not making all the progress that I had hope to make this weekend. Saturday I didn't get to do a thing! I just cut out 2 more blocks and am on the way to getting more done. I am just afraid I won't get my goal completed. I will post my progress later in the day.

I’m late in starting this weekend. The last 2 days I’ve been busy canning sweet corn & bread and butter pickles. Has anyone canned with stevia in the raw sugar? I ran out of regular sugar.
Today, I plan to finish setting up my sister’s fall quilt and get it started. I decided to just make this a plan day for future projects. I will also pick out fabric from my stash and scraps to start a few projects that will take me months, and months, to, years to years to complete. Then I need to finish dryIn the brown fabric and figure a basic pattern for a neighbor with that fabric. Any ideas. It needs to be 84” square when finished. I have 2 months to have it done. This is my planning month.
Oh yes, I’m in for Labor Day full weekend VQW.

ok, I'm in for Labor Day weekend, I have been laid off with no job prospects in site, so everyday is a sewing day. Amazing what you can get done when you have a 40 plus year stash and all the time in the world to play with it!
