Good morning, everyone! Heather, thanks again for hosting, I love these weekends.

I have a few things to do and hoping this heat doesn't hurt my head in the process. All of the fabric for my nephew's quilt finally came in (can't really notice it in the picture, but the backing is actually a dry brush light blue, reminds me of stone-washed denim in a way), so today is mainly going to be to give everything a good press and then cut it down - I'm doing the Roundabout quilt for him. I can't wait to get to sewing it, not just because I'm doing it on my new sewing machine, this quilt just looks really fun to do.

Then, I've got to get the other three quilts out and get them measured, I can't find the list I had made with their measurements, I ordered batting and it's here so I've got to match the right size batting with the right quilt. Hoping the backing for them will be here soon, I ordered from Marshal's Dry Goods at the beginning of the week.

Last, I finally found the right pattern for my other sister and I've got to cut her yardage off of the bolt of Muslin I have. The charm packs and accent fabric might be here this weekend, but since I've got my large cutting mat out now, might as well cut her yardage so that's one less thing to contend with when it comes time to start hers.

Lots to do this weekend, just waiting on my Aleve to kick in so I can get rid of this neck ache I woke up with and I can get started. Super excited about this weekend!

Sounds like some projects going on this weekend. We are leaving for a week up north (Minnesota) to stay at a cabin.
Really haven't been doing any quilting. Am going to sew together a curtain for hubby's tool shed, not really quilting but still using fabric and a sewing machine

Oh, luscious blues Railroadersbrat! Used my new machine to mend some Carhartt work pants for SIL, he promised he would wear with a patch actually had some fabric the same rusty gold colour, imagine that! LOL This morning groceries need to be replenished and then my 2nd vaccine this afternoon but hope to fill in the time making another pp Tall building...the most time consuming is picking what fabric to use for each one so I don't end up with a cluster of the same colour on one part of the circle....that is one drawback of doing a BOM, if you want to keep current you have to make whatever block is released whether the order makes sense to you or not. I'm using Donna Jordan's Roundabout pattern, link is below if you want to check it out. She's got a ton of free patterns, this is the second one I'm doing from her. Blue has always been one of my favorite colors and I absolutely am obsessed with blue quilts. There's something so elegant about them and when I saw the pattern, I knew who to do it for and the color I wanted.

Looks like several of you are off to a great start! I started piecing the mystery quilt today but only got about half of it done as we had thunderstorms and I turned off the machine. Should be able to finish that tomorrow and then start quilting. I did cut fabric for three more quilts to work on next week so day wasn't a total bust

I am like Dedemac.... my sewing room doubles as a guest room/ nursery. We are watching our 10 month old Grandaughter for the weekend. Her Pack and Play is set up where my cutting table goes. I will check in on everyone's progress as she naps! Happy Quilting!

Yesterday I managed to get all the pieces cut for my stars, and half of the star legs sewn together. Today my goal to finish sewing the other half of the star legs and hopefully get some blocks sewn together.

I will be working on my "sewing room essentials" by Ellenor Burns. The blocks are done and just need binding and joing. Hope to get it done this weekend.

grrr....everytime I think I am going to get back to my longarm, someone comes over. Ok, I do like that, during the winter up here we all stay in and then during the summer, we all start to roam the neighborhood catching up on everyone and tending our yards. Also, I went down to put a new needle in and for some reason I just could not get the needle in the right place (long arm needles have a totally round shaft) I do have those needle magnets to check my alignment but whenever I went to tighten the screw it went crooked again. My friend told me to just "step away from the needle" and try again today. So after breakfast I am heading down.

Yesterday I mostly just sort of groaned around... my arms and legs are ok but I was feeling that layout time in the small of my back. Today I hope/plan to start quilting!
