Monday morning - my cords are wrangled, LOL! Fiance promised he'd get me off of the floor if I did it last night, so I took care of things. It took a little longer than I thought, but everything is now wrapped up, separated, and organized. I also cleaned off my sewing cabinet and put my ironing table back together after I was done with that.

As soon as I wake up a little further, I'll be working on my nephew's border and then I'll be working on more hexies the rest of the day and cleaning my kitchen. Normally when we have a VQW, I cook something the morning that it starts for the fiance to eat throughout the weekend so I can have the island to myself and keep the dishes down, but this time I didn't and he made a mess. Go figure

Woke up in the middle of the night with a bad reaction to a mosquito bite! Apparently I'm bait myself... I've never had a reaction like this before -- the itching was intense, my ring finger was swollen and I had to take my wedding ring off. Took a shower in case it was some other sort of allergic reaction and then snarfed down a couple of benadryl, it took about an hour for them to help the itching, and cut my frog fabric for the border while I was trying not to scratch. After 4 hours from the first dose, I took another 2 and went back to bed for awhile.

But now I'm up and ready to put on borders. I usually just cut to fit, but since I had some issues with my seams/block sizes, I'm going to make the center of the quilt follow the correct math of the borders. I'm altering the designed borders a bit, adding a third and changing the sizes slightly. When I first looked at this pattern, I had plenty of fabric but I realized I needed to add an additional row to make it a better bed size, and that left me a couple inches short from ideal for the frog fabric.

So, from my own imposed goals, I didn't get any tops sandwiched and I'm about two sewing days behind -- thought I would have had the borders on Saturday or Sunday at the latest but hey, I slacked off all day on Friday. Apparently I needed to do that and my goals are my own, thankfully no deadlines involved. It definitely felt good to be working in my still in-progress but greatly improved sewing room

I did get the top finished for Artemis’s baby quilt and I found the cutest Dr. Seuss backing fabric. So maybe I’ll be able to put it all together today and start quilting it.

Another finish YAY! I made this little quilt a year or two ago. It's only 48 X 58 but will be a nice couch quilt for someone. It's an Eleanor Burns pattern.

Thanks, Heather, for having the VQW. This is the first time I've joined in. I really enjoy hearing and seeing about everyone's projects. For the rest of the day, I will be in my recliner, hand piecing, and watching PBS.

I'm about to join QuiltBaer in the tv mode -- but we have a movie from Redbox the hubby selected. I have all my border units ready to go, first round or two are completed and might still get them on today but for now, I need a break.

So here's a shot of the borders going on, and then shot 2 is how they will finish.

So many beautiful projects and so much progress, way to go everyone! I got all my blocks done, but still need to sew them all together and then get the border on. I’m happy with the progress I made considering I spent the last VQW cutting all the pieces out. Looks like rain on Wednesday, so I will spend the day finishing it up and maybe next weekend I can get it quilted. I have a ton of yard work that needs caught up and with cooler temps I am ready to get everything done this week. Thanks again for hosting Heather, I am looking forward to the next one. Sending hugs and prayers to those that are in need.

I keep trying to post just a little something and keep nocking myself off the site. Its good to see all the pretties that everyone is working on and praying for everyone that is going through life's trails.
I did work on a quilt top that I started a month ago and I am almost finished with it
Thanks Heather for hosting the VQW and everyone had a pleasant holiday

Finally got some sew time today!
cut squares for a disappearing 9 patch and finished borders on another. Bits for a set of twins so need to finish both before gifting. Both are 18.

Point- this will be the first time I repeat a pattern in 3 + years since taking up the hobby. But I felt it was important for sibling harmony.

Size 65 x 65. All stash!

(Ok, so I went to the fabric sale at the LQS yesterday for a little addition for a particular project. Shhh.... Don't tell the Fabric Moratorium folks!)

Great to hear that many got to spend time sewing/quilting! I spent Friday with a few friends sewing and chatting. Not much accomplished but we had fun. I then started binding a larger quilt and have just one more side to go. I will post when all done.
