I’m always happy to host a VQW thread. 😀. Most of the time I get quite a bit done myself. Today I quilted at local shop with four other ladies. I finished a Molly Maker bag (Lazy Girl pattern) and worked on two others. Also started another bag after I was shown how to cut it! There were three of looking at pattern and we all thought the instructions weren’t very clear. But we figured it out! Also helped another lady start her first wool appliqué project. It was a very successful VQW for me and sounds like for quite a few of you. See you all next month I hope!

I did it! I actually finished the binding last night but after such a long day hunched over my quilt, I decided to give myself until today to actually post. Thanks - this is the first VQW I've actually set goals for and it's been fun to pop in here now and then to see everyone's progress. This is the last I Spy quilt I hope to be making for a little while, anyway. I still have a huge box of novelty prints so I'll probably revisit it again, but time for a change. Who knows what the next adventure will be? :-)

Finally getting back to check in on everyone's progress. Wow have you all been busy..😛

Watson, love your bright colors.

Iceblossom, great progress, I really like your pattern and choices of colors.

I actually got quite a bit of sewing done. Bags are almost done. They are all sewn, working on the hard bottoms. I'm using bosal heat modable. I really like that it's fusible.

I also got beets, carrots, and pickles canned. 56 jars done. And 10 bags of corn stripped and packaged for freezing. Garlic is put away for the winter too. Two loaves of zucchini made too.

Photos to follow.

Default Monday Evening

I tried to upload my picture earlier today but my phone was acting up and I finally gave up. My nephew's quilt top is finally done, the borders went on earlier today.

Thank you again, Heather, for hosting. I do love these weekends and seeing everyone have such great progress. I know my nephew's borders probably wouldn't be on now without this.

Can't wait to see everyone next month, as always, I had a blast!

I did get the Froggy Beach top done yesterday but had to wait for hubby to leave for work this morning before I could get a picture. It was a fun, quick project made longer by my machine being in the shop.

It is "Full Bloom" by Cathey Laird from the AQS July 2021 issue. I added an extra row for length and the third border to make it a better twin size.

edit: I'm always amazed at how much bigger a border or two can make a top, the "Frogs without Borders" stage looked so small but it came out ok in the end.

Just look at all the work completed! Good job everyone. I did the hand binding on 2 of the veterans quilts here. Veterans' Day will be here soon - our little guild is presenting at least 29 quilts!
Yes Heather, I will be at OVQG retreat, looking forward to it!
Now I need to get dressed and head to my week of sewing with friends!
