Yes, it is that easy! My very first quilt was actually a Triple Irish Chain. I took a class, wasn't a sewer, had no idea about quilting. And I didn't have any problems. With the single Irish Chain - just those 2 blocks, alternating. With jelly rolls, you eliminate all of the cutting of strips, very nice!

Definately that easy. My first quilt was a double irish chain, and I have made many more since. The most recent one I made was a friendship quilt with over 300 signatures on it. Gotta love strip piecing!

I started quilting the same way - with a triple Irish chain. No classes or lessons at all. I think it is still my best quilt!

This is the Double Irish Chain quilt I am currently working on. They are wonderful, easy and so beautiful; in my honest opinion.

I also love her version of Jacob's Ladder quilt. She really makes patterns easier.
