Default Walking Foot Replacement

Does anyone know a source for a short shank walking foot that has metal instead of plastic on the part that fits on to the needle bar? That part seems to wear out first, and it just happened to my mother. I would like to order her one for her 1970's Kenmore, if only I could find one!

Seems like this one might be what you are looking for:

Thanks, but the shank area on that one looks like white plastic. I am looking for metal.

have you tried Googling "universal short shank walking foot" to see if that takes you anywhere you might find one?

I have the same problem. I solved it by using the tiny plastic hair bands . They wrap around the bar and over the outside of the foot case. Works very well,

A word of caution, I bought a generic walking foot with a metal "claw" to use with an older machine. I quit using it when I discovered the metal claw was wearing a groove in the needle bar on my machine. It could be that the generic foot did not fit quite right, and even though it functioned just fine, the metal claw rubbed against the metal bar in a way it shouldn't have. The one with the plastic claw does not do this. Just something to watch out for.

The Janome one I purchased for my Elna has a metal hook for the needle bar.
