Yes, it's all a matter of personal preference and what we want our quilts to be. Sometimes I use quilt store quality and sometimes when I'm just fooling around for myself, it doesn't matter what I use. And some of the odd scraps I've found in flea markets turned into quilts I really like. It's fun to have options!!

We heard the same in CA. All the WalMarts will get bolts of fabric back....most likely as they are remodeled or the SuperCenters are built.

Our WM also got lots of bolts of fabric back, but the last 3 times I went to check it out, no one was around to cut it for me. They even removed the bell that you could ring to summon assistance. I give up!

I just visited one of the 3 WalMarts near me and they were in the process of getting the fabric out on the floor. Hooray! I hope the other 2 stores get it soon also.

Last time I was to our only Walmart within an hour drive, the fabric dept (an aisle) moved to the far corner of the store. It was always in the back of the store, only much bigger. I did not see much change since last time I visited. Still one aisle. Don't frequent there much, with gas prices. Just not worth a trip. I get what I need online or wait till we travel. I do suppose one day we may get a larger fabric dept

The Walmart super store in Temecula CA is NOW unloading the fabric. Two stores in Corona CA were remodeled but no sign of fabric is coming back. YES, the prices at JAF have skyrocketed along with the price of cotton. Now that the prices have declined, I doubt if the price of yardage will come down. Just like gasoline.
