I have prewashed Warm and Natural but only for those quilted items I want to remain flat or with out the shrinkage. For regular quilts that I want a bit of crinkle .. I use it straight out of the package.
Warm and natural is one of the better battings ars far as not have a big cotton ball in the bottom of the washer when you prewash.
If you really want to pre wash , I soak mine over night , then agitate for only a minute or two --gentle cycle. I do spin dry , then pop in the dryer regular cycle.

I just updated my original post. You're supposed to wash it BY HAND!!! (Their caps, not mine). And ... "Wash as you would a fine cotton sweater."
PUH-LEASE!!!

I never even thought of washing my batting first, and I don't think I will think of it now!!

Whew! Just afraid when I read that thing about the cotton seed oil. I was almost afraid we'd go up in flames or slide off the bed if I didn't pre-wash!

I've used Warm & Natural since it first came out and have never prewashed and never had a problem washing once the quilt is finished!
