Had so much trouble in 'reply'. Hope this helps (and works).

Might be the bias edges stretched. If starching and ironing didn’t help, try running a row of large stitching along the stretched spots. Gently pull the bottom thread to pull up the stretch but don’t pull enough to gather the edge. Repin the the border on and ease in any fullness along the whole border.

Do as Tartan has suggested. When stitching on the border, place the wavy edge on the bottom with straight-grain strip on top. Your feed dogs will take up the extra fullness. Hope this helps.

I'm wondering, too, about making the seams slightly larger.

I just want to say I love this quilt and all it’s diamonds. I’m getting ready to sew on a diamond shaped quilt myself.

Good luck. You could try making seams a bit larger on the wavy part. Then continue as others have suggested. Be sure to let us know what worked.

Wouldn't it help also, if you measure across the center width and length of your top, and cut the borders to measurements? Then Sew and force the wavy edge to fit the border? I feel your pain...I've had issues like that and it's very frustrating. All the suggestions sound helpful.

I would open up the one of the seams at the diamond points. Re-starch and press carefully so it doesn't stretch the unit.

Mark the 1/4 inch seam that you need to make the block fit and sew back together. Trim out any extra fabric on the back so there is only 1/4 inch seam allowance left.
