Here's one way to make a Christmas wall hanging with the Storm at Sea pattern:

I like the idea of giving Holiday themed items, rather than "general".

How about a wall hanging with a couple of wedding bells, crazy or not, with bows/ribbons, appliqued, in whites and the colours of the wedding, and names and date embroidered on. You could add some braid or trims without all the embroidery usual to crazy blocks.

For many weddings or showers, I made a pair of personalized Christmas stockings, or one large stocking that could be hung on a door. I have also given baskets with potholders, hot pads, small seasonal table toppers, crochet dish cloths, and scrubbies. It isn't anything real fancy, but they are all useful.

I love the bowl cozy idea. If they have bowls listed in their registry, you could include them!

A picnic throw on the small side would be useful too. I have a denim one that has gone through 20+ years and is still loved today!

If we are voting on a final project, I vote for the Christmas ornament w/h. Just gorgeous!

I made my nephew some placemats out of the left over fabric from their wedding quilt. The top side was done in a traditional pieced placemat style, for the backing, as I knew they were into Harry Potter, I picked some "wizard" fabric. tee hee....they emailed me to tell me they had used the "wizard" placemats for their first halloween party. My sister always request the backing for the table toppers I make her have some holiday theme to them.

My cousin is getting married in...100 days. She posted the cutest pic yesterday. Second cousin, actually, and she already "won" a quilt at a White Elephant Christmas celebration. So, I decided to make two bowl cozies that also fit a white Corning Ware round casserole dish. I'll take a pic later today and post in pictures forum. I've also been making the cutest potholders with 3 layers of batting...might include some in gift. (I was worried about not using special heat-fabric, but they work amazingly well)
