Here it is! I have this cut and ready to sew in poppy colors!

From McCall's Quick Quilts Dec/jan 2011 ; Page 8
Modern Wedding Ring
designed by Gerri Robinson

EDIT:
http://www.mccallsquilting.com/lp-we...thank-you.html

EDIT: Try this. Go into Quick Quilts and on the left side of the home page is Magazines. put the curser on this and you will get a list. Go to quick quilts BACK ISSUES. It will take you to a screen with the covers pictured. Click on Dec/Jan 2011. It will open and you will find Modern Wedding ring there and you can enlarge that picture and get all the info for it! Hope this works.
This may help you see what it looks like!
Download the wedding qiults E-book and scroll down to the Modern Wedding Ring. It uses snowball blocks and strip piecing around a center square. EASY!
peace
Would you please provide a little more instruction? I've joined the McCall's site, but I can't seem to access the Wedding Quilts e-book. I'm eager to see this pattern!

Thanks!
If you double click on the web site i listed in my post it should take you to one of the pages at Quick Quilts . The Left side of the page is an E-book you can download into your files as a pdf. the picture is on pg 14 of the E-book.

I'll try to figure out how to post a pic from there but I'm an old dog!

It will be well worth the time, energy and love you put into it.
I have only hand quilted one quilt and it was the double wedding ring. All my children have quilts I have made them, but not hand quilted. I guess they will fight over it when I am gone!

We did our Double Wedding Rings using the method in Rings That Bind. The templates came with the book. It is a style of quilt-as-you-go. So no need for quilting it later. You can probably find the book & templates online if not at a LQS.

While the cover of the book isn't appealing .... what a group of us did was.

Was easy and fast.

It worked! Thank you for these additional instructions.

While I really like the simplicity of the pattern, I found the pictured quilt to be quite dull. The "snowballs" looked like solid beige. (I trust it looked much better in the magazine.)

I hope you'll post a picture of your quilt, even in the early stages, so we can all see a better example of this pattern.

Thanks again!

Lots of people have opinions and alternatives. I just finished a double wedding ring and while I am very happy to be done with it, I am most, most happiest that I will not be doing it again. My advice: go for an easy enjoyable project which will be so much more fun and just as appreciated by your friend. No one can appreciate a double wedding ring enough!

While I've never made a Double Wedding Ring quilt, I know you speak the truth, maryellen2u. It's the rare recipient who appreciates the work involved in any quilt!

Rather than singing the blues over this, I suggest that we feel liberated to make and give easily-made quilts without apology!

I got the book The Ring that Binds it makes a beautiful double wedding ring quilt. It also comes with the tool that you cut from of. I did have to watch to finish but at least I had the video. You can type in The Ring that Binds in Google and watch the video to see if you want to do this method.
