Plan for today - as soon as I log off the computer - Finish the border quilting on my Strip Pineapple and start the binding. Planning on doing the hand work as I sit with my DH watching a movie this evening. THEN I will finish piecing my Pie in the Sky.

Happy Quilting everyone!

Update to above. I actually did it - finished quilting the Strip Pineapple, have the binding set for hand sewing - as well as started. AND, I started the sashing of my Pie in the Sky. Good day!

If we all keep cozy in our sewing room, being productive we'll get through the long weeks left of winter and have some lovely quilts to show for it. I keep on pushing myself not to lose my quilting mojo as cabin fever is trying hard to set in.

During my "Christmas Vacation", I pieced a Disappearing 9 patch for a friend's first grandchild. That was after driving 2500 miles to visit D & SIL in Alabama. Got home, purchased a 2' x 4' adjustable leg table, setup at "child's table height" have finished quilting (pebble stipple all over) and actually gave it to my friend at end of January. Speed record for me! That table made all the difference. Am now working on finishing 2nd maternity top for my daughter, she's in her first trimester and being slender, not too many of her tops are going to last long! waiting for the knit fabric I've ordered, will be making her some more tops and capri pants.

I think my physical comfort made all the difference in my motivation!

Good luck to all. And this quilting board is an awesome place to refresh, recharge and share. Thank you all!

Count me in..Lord knows I need a little push. Not been very motivated since getting sick the beginning of Nov...Been through URI, flu, pneumoni and infected tooth. Now behind 30 or more quilts to be quilted for charity and three quilts I have started for next Christmas. They will be very involved and need to have time to concentrate on them and them only. Also am baby sitting grandaughters new puppy while she is in school or at athletic activities...I must have a hole in my head.........

Does that mean there won't be a sale of fabric's? Just teasing!!!!!
But I think I will join you in giving myself a motivational pep talk and get busy on some of the projects that are all over my sewing room/bedroom.

I'm in. Decided this was the year to get some UFOs done. Just two days home from surgery with six weeks recovery ahead of me, so all I can do is work on hand piecing the last of my double wedding ring melons, and then piece the entire top. When I am allowed and able to lift things, I can out my quilt back in the hoop and finish hand quilting it.
I haven't taken stock on all UFOs, just selected a few that I want to work on this year and complete. The focus will be on quilts that have to be quilted and bound. So no fabric buying because its not needed. Then there are four quilt projects that I will be working on. The rest will wait in line......it feels good to have a short list to work on!
Other than that, I have reduced computer time, using my computer as a tool and less a place to hang out. I answer emails straightaway, usually in the morning and then I'm done for the day. I love my iPhone and iPad, but I put them aside and have learned not to grab them at every blip or beep - as a matter of fact, I've turned those off. Being in front of the TV means having sewing in my hands, or it serves as a visual radio while hand quilting. Also, I have a long standing habit of sewing while on the phone or using Skype to talk to friends so I remain productive while catching up. I'm also avoiding the fairs and quilt events, leaving that to next year.
These are all things that help me be more productive and joining you all will help even more!

Getting over a bad bout of broncitis (sp?) and asthma, steriods and antibiotics. No sleep so you would think time to quilt, but cant get mind to settle. Tried cuttin some strips, not a good combo - rotary blades and the shakes, so put that away...lol. Did manage to do some piecing on my DD white on white quilt. Don't know which is worse - black to sew on or white/white. Have so much trouble deciding on the right side. Plan on bordering it today and maybe sandwiching it. Depends on energy and concentration levels. Good luck in our self appointed paths today....

My sewing machine decided to quit this am. I thought the thread had jumped but I have rethreaded and it still won't stitch a seam. May have to take it to the repairman. But I still am working on the handsewing on my Strip Pineapple. I hope to have it complete by the end of the week.

Boy we have ambitious ladies on this board. I just hope to finish the items I have started and organize my fabric. No more buying fabric this year. I have plenty to work with.
