Default Double Wedding Ring Pattern

Hello, have been seeing a lot of DWR quilts lately and I know I have this pattern on my bucket list. Think I'm now ready to attack this pattern but can't find one I like well enough. I'd like to be able to make this into a queen or king size quilt so larger blocks would be nice. Will be using mostly my scraps to downsize them too. Would rather do paper piecing if possible but if you've made this quilt and thought the pattern was clear in their instructions I'd like to know where I might be able to obtain it.

Thanks in advance.

was hoping you'd get some answers. This is one I'd also like to do, and I've had some PP patterns that are easy to follow, and some that I've used the papers and pretty much tossed the directions. So it's very nice to hear from others if they found a good one.

I'm in the home stretch of a wedding present for 1 daughter. I did the Judy Niemeyer Flowers for my Wedding Ring. The paper piecing for the blocks of pieced rings, melons and curved diamond centers went together really well. I also used the Creative Grid rulers to do a final cuts on the ring paper-pieced arcs and cutting out the melons and center quads.

The rings are reasonably round and the paper-pieced flying geese border frames the 4x5 rings very well. I'm a fourth of the way through the hand appliqued batik flowers. Not an easy quilt, but it was on my bucket list and allowing her to pick out the final pattern and fabrics added up to everyone getting what they wanted.

I just wish I liked hand applique more than I do!

I have made 2 DWRs as wedding gifts for my nephews. I think they went together easy enough - but they were not paperpieced

I used Shar Jorgenson's templates. I am very glad that I bought them. And she has videos on YouTube to watch (over and over again )

I know what you mean about patterns - there are a lot of different DWR patterns once you start looking at them.

Here are the quilts that I made. I am already planning my 3rd one ha ha

Those are both gorgeous, especially the second one with the dark background,

I "cheated" and had John Flynn's daughter, Katie, laser cut the pieces for me. She gave me the amounts of each color and half my work was done! :-) My mother handquilted it, and it's taken us 7 years to get it done, so this will be the only DWR I make. Working on a counted cross stitch label and then off it goes so my son and DIL. Yes, they're still married! :-)

Edited to add: Sorry about the size of the photo. There wasn't a choice of sizes. :-(

I have made one using yellow and blue fabrics and it turned out really pretty. I used the templates from Shar Jorgenson also and it was fun to make. I hadn't been quilting long but DWR is the pattern my daughter requested. I got a pizza box and cut all of the pieces and put them in and as I had time I would sew a block. Very fun to make and would like to make another one. Good luck on your DWR and please share a picture of your progress as you go and have fun making it.

Try Cheryl Phillips pattern at Phillips Fiber Art. She is or at least was located in Colo. I made one several years ago for my daughter and it was an easy pattern to do. Not sewing tiny pieces together, but done in strips then cut. I bought the book years ago and a plastic template came with it. I made hers a queen size. I think if you can still get her pattern, you will find it really easy to do. I saw her demo. on Nancy's Notions when I decided to purchase the book.
