Well, I think we've decided on the Janome 11000. The price is $4999 plus tax. Is this a good price? It is comparable to what other dealers in the area are asking. And she does personal one on one training for as long as needed. My husband wanted me to consult with the experts on here before he decides whether to spend the money or not! :)

Also, any ideas where to buy a table/cabinet for the machine? The one they had at the LQS was $800 and we didn't really want to spend that much.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

that's a decent price. a lot of dealers still won't part with one for less than the full price of $7,000.

p.s. you will LOVE it. :-)

That's a good price for the Janome Memory Craft 11000 Special Edition. My dealer couldn't beat that price but he did throw in the extra large hoop. You might also ask if the machine has the latest, most up-to-date software installed. You will love this machine!!!

Check with kenssewingcenter.com. I think their phone number is 1 877 kenssew. They have great prices on cabinets and are the largest Janome dealer in the US so might have a better deal. The only consideration might be that some companies don't allow certain models to be sold via mail.

The Janome dealer, I bought my machine from took my old Kenmore machine in for trade. My machine was old and dated and he gave me $250.00 towards my new one. I believe the price you were quoted was reasonable.

I have sewn on the 11000 since it came out and have upgraded it to the special edition. I have left instructions that I want to be buried with this machine!LOL. I enjoy it so much. It does everything I want and a lot more. And in 3 years I've never had a problem with it that required me to take it into the shop for service. I get regular "checkups" annually and it keeps on going. I take it on sewing retreats in a wheeled case and it travels well. Just a great machine! And the price you're getting is quite good IMO.

I paid that for a comparable Brother Innovis 4000D.

I only have 1 comment which may or may not concern you. I've owned 2 high end combo sewing/embroidery machines and I NEVER sewed on either one of them. I embroider a LOT and can't wait for the embroidery to be done before I go back to sewing so I leave the machine in the embroidery set up at all times.

If I had it to do all over again, I would have purchased the top of the line embroidery only machine. I have a really good 20+ year old computerized sewing machine that meets 90% of my needs.
