    I AM MAKING A SPECIAL quilt for a special friend.How is the Best way to put letters onto a quilt?As appliques or into the quilt?I am fairly new but I have done quilts before just nothing this special.ANY HELP IS WELCOME! :) THANK YOU!

    I do them with fusible applique. I create them the size I want on the computer and print them off. Then I copy them in reverse onto fusible web and iron onto the fabric. Cut out, then apply to the quilt. I'll attach a sample so you can see.

    You can use the fusible web with the appliques as Katie said, or you can put it into the quilting. If you have access to an embroidery machine, you could do that too.
    Personally, I like appliques.

    THANK YOU BOTH VERY MUCH!I DO NOT HAVE AN ENBROIDERY MACHINE that with do BIG Letters,he wants 12 in and then 4 inch ones.Ty.

    I've done words on a wall hanging and they were paper-pieced. Not as difficult as it seems. I've also embroidered words on a quilt but in the end I like the look of the pp best.
