Default reliable iron

Just got a Reliable Iron that has a sensor handle that makes sounds when you touch the handle. Does anyone know how to deactivate the sound? Not crazy about the noise.

I've got a Reliable and I've never heard of the sensor handle, and mine only makes noise when the water runs out when I use steam. What is the sensor for?

I would think the manual could tell you how to deactivate it...? IF that's possible. It may be a safety feature and therefore not able to be deactivated.

When does it beep? Mine will beep just before it shuts off, so maybe yours beeps to let you know that it is on again.

Try bypassing the auto shut off and see if it beeps then.
