Default What colour to quilt this?

This quilt top is made from blocks sent to me as part of a swap, and the colours go from very light yellows and creams in one corner to dark blues, purples and black at the opposite end. I'd like to use it to practice my stippling - but what colour thread should I use? Whatever I choose is going to be almost invisible at one end and stand out at the other! Or do I need to rethink the idea?

i would use a medium neutral thread- either medium gray or medium taupe/cream- the gray will almost disappear over the whole quilt.

Good idea - something similar to the Masterpiece silver grey that I use for piecing might do it - thanks!

I agree a nice gray quilting thread will pretty much disappear across the quilt.

I was going to use a variegated, but I'm not sure that there are any that would accommodate the number of colours or the move from dark to light on this quilt. What would you choose?

Maybe jewel tones? Then it would show almost everywhere.

I agree with ckcowl. A medium gray or taupe. Your quilt top is very beautiful. Thanks for shatlring. Please post pictures after you have it quilted.
