Look at it this way. This would be a good quilt to have lying around to throw over your legs on a cold night when you're just settling down to watch T.V. If someone spills coffee, tea, kool aid, etc. You will not feel bad.

I like it! It is truly a scrappy quilt. Isn't that how you use up your old vintage fabrics in your stash? Really, I see nothing ugly about it. Would be great as an all around utility quilt.

Another scrappy quilt fan here. I like it and would quilt it and proudly display it on my quilt ladder with my other quilts. I have made one very similar except I had black sashing between blocks. Still one of my favorites.

How about practicing your crazy quilt stitches? It looks like it is just begging for different colored stitches. Herringbone in different colors and some blanket stitches. Just a thought.

There is a very homey, comfortable feel about it - I do like it.

I agree with some of the others: Quilt it nicely and give it back to her with compliments.

I think the quilt top is great, but then again I love a scrappy quilt.
