Do any of you donate scraps. I use some but when they get to small and start piling up I rather just get rid of them...too messy. Do you know of any groups that would use them. I would rather donate local since i really do not want to pay shipping. To most people it is trash, but I am sure there must be a group out there somewhere that would use them for something. Maybe??

You could offer them on freecycle, if you have a local group. Or, you can offer them on here and ask that someone pay for shipping. Many people would love them and don't mind paying for shipping.

You are so sweet to share. :)

I can't do freecycle, My husband does not want me giving out my address or meeting strangers. Sadly there are sick people out there that ruin it for others.

Sometimes schools want them for art projects. You could call a school or preschool (especially Montessori or charter school) and if they want them, you could drop them off at your convenience.

Also senior housing. They love free things to do little crafts.

here in my area i give scraps to the local pre-school, the senior center, an assisted living facility and the public high-school art department...all of which LOVE IT when i come through the door with a big black garbage bag of little scraps of fabric. there is also a school (for young soon to be & newly mom's) that accepts fabrics other than quilting fab's and patterns/notions/thread ect.
i also give empty spools and other things like that to the local boy scout group.

Great ideas Thank-you..I will be cleaning out my closet. I have a few bolts that were given to me that I will not be using. Fabric collects fast. I have only been sewing since Sept.

My aunt takes them to her church lady friends and they make quilts for hospital and lots of other organizations too. Maybe post a note at the local grocery store or ask someone you know who belongs to a quilting guild or church group.
