oh the wonders of polyester ! LOL I made many dresses for my mother out of poly knits. And I got them back to cut up for quilts. While they may not be the most attractive quilts you will make - they wear like cast iron and they will keep you very warm ! What about charity quilts ?....or for our pets ? I have one on my bed for the cats....poor things gets washed and washed.... So.......I say use them if you like or give to someone else. Have you seen the little rugs you make with the poly knits....they are so darn cute !!! I am hoping to make some of those.
"Use it up, wear it out. Make it do - or do without." that is my motto.

I use it to make lap size car or pickup quilts for younger friends and relatives. They think it is cool and yes it wears like nails. What young lady wouldn't love the pink print and solid with the awake green! While washing his pickup my grand son washes his in in his car wash bucket and dries it on the wood fence....

A few years ago, I remember hearing a quilt historian say that someday quilts made of these knits would probably be collectibles. How about making tablecloths or quilts for picnics outdoors, cushions for the porch furniture or bright small quilts for kids in hospitals? That knit could probably be washed a lot....I like the stripes.

My daughter has a quilt made of this type of fabric. Just squares sewn together and tied. It is her car quilt and could withstand a nucular attack and come out just fine. It has survived 15 years of kids and dogs and looks like new. Warm as heck too.

People that are making clothing for third world countried love polyester double knit. People in these countries still wash their clothing on rocks and polyester wares like iron. I would find a humanitarian group and donate it to them.

Dog beds for the local dog shelter....the puppies wouldn't care about the colors and they will all but last forever.

Make quilts! My grandmother used the most hideous colors and designs of polyester and I cherish each quilt she left behind!
If you don't want to use them, send them to me!
Oh yes, they would be good in other projects; I can see them all right now in my mind's eye.
