Great ideas everyone, thanks!

I was thinking too of making baby quilts for donation or lap quilts for nursing home residents. Do you think that would be acceptable?
The recipients will love them---PL is always looking for quilts for teens, esp. boys--and what about Soldiers Angels?
they will just love what someone made for them-----and NOT worry about whether the fabric is "in fashion"!
Make em and give em away...it is a GREAT feeling!
If you have a veterans center near you---that is another place that can use them...

Mix it with modern fabrics in a scrappy quilt. You'd be surprised how easily things blend. I'm trying to visualize outdated fabric. Fabric doesn't come with puffy shoulder pads.

I know there are many people here who can't afford to build a stash and you could send it to one or a few of them. Just ask them to pay it forward when they can.

Bright and cheery fabric is in now, but for how long? I think the eye needs some rest after looking at a bright quilts.

I have a lot of the type of fabric you have. I have a hard time getting it used up, but I'm going to because I know that whatever I buy to replace it will cost at least double what I have in it.

This is also very true. I think it's why I've been hanging on to it. I figure if I ever run short of cash I'll at least have a stash. Sometimes I like to just go through it all and be surprised.

I'm sure we all have fabrics that may not suit our taste at one time or another. Ones we love today we may look at a few years down the road and think yuck! Then it will seem perfect for a project later.

If it is dark, add lights to it in a scrappy quilt.
If it is ugly, cut it into smaller pieces, use it in a scrappy. Cut small, they don't look ugly in amongst the other fabrics :D:D:D
