I doubt I'll ever stop learning, and I count a quilt project as a success if I learned something from it. Even if it's all messed up, if I learned something from it, I count it as a success.

I have machine quilted a crib size but want to do larger quilt, so I guess the next size would be twin.

FMQ. I am so uninformed about the subject, I am not even sure what the tension should be on my Janome machine.

I keep saying, I'll start when I finish this other quilt I am "hand-quilting". I am nervous and scared also.

I'd really love to learn curved piecing --- no matter how many videos or tutes I watch, it just doesn't work for me. And, FMQ--- count me as another that wishes I was good enough to suck at it. I seem to lose the connection with my machine whenever I drop the feed dogs (and I even have a fabric mover!!!).

I'm with all who would like to 'suck' at FMQ and I too loose connection with my machine when the feed dogs drop and I also have a fabric mover and stitch regulator....I've tried lots of the tips from the board and other sites and still no success. I think part of is that I feel like I am going to make a mess and fail and therefore, I do.

I just got back from the Cleveland Quilt/Sewing Show at the IX center. Now, that will make you feel infererior...I'd have to take at least two giant steps forward to be in the presuck stage. There were beautiful quilts but some of the rudest people on the face of earth. Not too many bargains just lots of ideas that you get overwhelmed as soon as you walk to the next booth. I snapped a few pics of some "ideas" and even had one booth owner ask me to erase the pic. I liked the idea and she wasn't selling it and didn't have a kit for it or anything. Needless to say I did and walked away from her booth. Anyone ever have something like that happen. I figured if she took it to a public place, she shouldn't mind. What a day and now I can think of all of the things I need to learn.
