Oh I don't like meanness. Don't want to encourage that.

I can think of a few:
Press seams open vs press to the dark side
Cotton thread vs Polyester thread
Stitch in the ditch is directly on the seam VS just to the side of the seam.

I'd say there are a blue zillion folks out there who still do not know what machine quilting really is. They envision a $39 Walmart quilt, not the beauties created here.
Yep, machine quilting gets dumped into the foreign cheap quilting catagory. the question that gets ask is it "handmade" if it is machine quilted? I think so!

How much quilting on a quilt is too much usually brings out the beast in a few people.

Can't say I've ever heard any of the two groups ever debate about what should be or not regarding wash or not wash...about fabrics....etc.

But than again I've only been in one over a year and the other one 9 months so perhaps haven't gotten to know them well enough yet.

As for "quilt police" I tell them around here that I live to annoy the quilt police. LOL
I like that last line. I may need to borrow it. My motto is "my quilt. My way. "

I never see meanness! I just see opinionated people. Like me!

How about binding? Both steps machine or one machine and one hand.

Of couse most of these fall into the same category as the big three:
Mac vs pc
Nikon vs Canon. And
Mayonnaise vs Miracle Whip.

Nobody can do better than to agree to disagree on those and I guess a lot of these quilting "discussions" are the same.

I think pressing open is a neater look, but that puts too much strain on the stitches-------IMO!

Oh yes those are ones I have heard too. I press to the dark side unless instructions say otherwise although I have always said pressing toward the dark side doesn't seem like something a Christian should do! Ha ha. My stitch in the ditch is REALLY in the ditch and I use all kinds of threads for all kinds of things. It is
My quilt my way.
