I only have 6 bobbins and keep them on the extra thread spool on my machine. Easy access.
Your idea is a great one for someone with a lot of bobbins.

What would work on embroidery thread? I have Sulky pack that contains about 100 spools of thread with the ends dangling everywhere. Drives me nuts!

Also, for spools of thread, tall or short, if you go to your local florist and ask them to save the mesh rose coverings, they work great for spools of thread, for the short ones you just cut the mesh and usually they don't charge because they throw them out.

Hmmm, I must be different. I mostly use one neutral color of thread because most of my sewing is piecing. I fill 3 or 4 bobbins and pop them on the vertical thread holder. Once I use them up, I fill them up again. I guess I don't have this problem? Your idea sure sounds like a great one though!

I use the regular black ponytail bands for all of my electrical cords for my machine and other electrical appliances. I hate those unruly cords to my machine and foot pedal when setting up and taking down for class...No more of those darn twist ties or rubberbands. Great for kitchen appliance cords too.
