"Reward" yourself when it's done.

LOL, I watch Netflix and Hulu on my iPad in my sewing room. Not a lot of watching, but listening, but if something catches my ear, I can always set it back and really watch.

Interesting - basically two camps here -

1) it's okay to put it away and not deal with it
2) finish it - whether you want to or not!

Recently, I've reviewed my ufo's and found some projects with enough finished blocks to make lap sized quilts for charity. Wow! That's downsizing a project and getting it done.

I would put it away for another time, with instructions as to why you started this quilt, pattern, etc., etc., but when things start to go south with my quilting, I put it away for another day (or year or two). It once took me 10 years to make my DH's 25th anniversary quilt, but when it was finished he loved it and I vowed never to make another quilt from the kaliedoscope (sp) pattern - too many bias pieces.

I have one of those projects. I got it back out today to work on it. I couldn't get a cornerstone in the sashing to match up. I ripped it our twice and I still wasn't pleased. I decided to try repressing and that seemed to make things match. Then I even put a tiny dab of washable glue to make sure those corners would stay matched. I am too obsessive compulsive about corners matching up. It is a chilly, rainy day and it is either sew or do some more catch up cleaning. My fur babies are all sleeping.

I am in a similar situation. My problem is I foolishly offered to make memory quilts for the wife and 2 sons of a dear friend of my DH and DS. Since that offer, I have been struggling with lower back problems on top of my usual neck and fibro issues. I have almost finished the first one, and have the other two cut out and ready to sew, but every step is a real struggle. I have 3 different quilts I want to make, pieced not t-shirt/sweatshirt like these memory quilts.
I am tempted to start one of the pieced quilts to use as leaders and enders just so I have something exciting happening as I work on the others.
With my luck, I'll end up with them all mixed together. LOL This board is so great for giving understanding and support!
I will let you know if the leaders/enders idea works.
