Default What to make with my Batik?

My sister and I went to the "Mini" Quilt show in Birmingham, AL this past weekend. I'm sure most of you would know this but it wasn't a show for mini quilts but a small version of a normal Quilt show. They only had maybe 20 quilts on display but they were beautiful. Had bunches of vendors there and I purchased a "Dove" Roll of Batiks. Never heard of a Dove roll before but figured it was a version of a Jelly Roll. My question is - what would be a good pattern to use these batiks on for a sofa-size lap quilt? I'm sure I'll probably need to go purchase a little extra for any larger blocks and the binding and backing as needed but I just laid all the strips out on my dining room table last night and it could possibly make a large lap quilt or something a smaller than a twin size quilt.

    I think it's called a quarter log cabin. http://www.google.com/search?num=10&...j2.JZumbrkx440
Eleanor Burns has a book called "Still Stripping" which uses 2 1/2" strips. http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponlin...lay.asp?i=1527

The Quarter Log Cabin is really easy and nice looking. Whatever you decide, please post a picture or two when you are finished with the quilt. Also, if you decide to pre-wash your batik fabric, let us all know what technique works the best for you...batiks can be so tricky when it comes to preventing the colors from bleeding/running.

Watermelon Shuffle from Hoffman is a great, yet simple design. Although jelly race/1600 quilts look great I prefer Watermellon shuffle. There is a quilt tutorial here on the board that I used to make my strip quilt. I will see if I can find the link.
Here is the link for the tutorial on her blog
