I have turned out some really nice rag quilts using quality 100% cotton. Because of it many ladies in two local quilt guilds now make rag quilts using the material.

I've never used flannel. It's never been a material that has ever attracted me to buy it.

every time i say
"i will never again" someone comes along and requests---and i wind up having to do one again---so==i'm afraid to even say it but there are a few that...i swear...
like pineapple blocks- the quilt turned out Awesome! but boy---i hated ever moment of those blocks! ...but to say i will never---probably will at some point---i never make the same quilt pattern twice---and there are some blocks i avoid---and others i keep going back to---a block called 'Guitar picker' had 65 pieces in one 12 1/2" block----i had to make 14 of them ---that one i will NEVER make another one of!! in fact when i was called and told i needed 15 instead of 14---i decided i really could do without one of my own---so---i guess that's the one

Hmmmm, I think probably shirts for little boys. I can't say I'll never make clothes again since I may have to make my own nightgowns if I can't find any I like when mine wear out again. But they won't have collars or set in sleeves.

It seems like the flannel is not the same quality as it used to be. Try making chenille blankets instead. The fluffy layers don't pill. You don't even have to wash them before giving if you buy a chenille brush. I have done this for shower gifts and just included instructions to wash before use in their favourite baby soap. I love the look and feel of flannel chenille!

Taylored five pocket front zip, fully lined black linnen pants. They came out great... But OMG!! All of that working over black about ruined my eyes!

A triple wedding ring with star in the middle. Not unless someone wanted to pay me a WHOLE lot of money to do one. Oh and the one I did make was with Waverley fabric at the customer's request.

I don't like working with flannel - but the project I will never make again is a "cootie cover" - you know the things that you put in a shopping cart so your baby/toddler doesn't touch the cart? I made it with the appropriate leg holes and straps, but it was too puffy for my taste ... maybe more quilting would have helped, but it just wasn't worth the effort.
