I want to finish the one that is my avatar here. Yes, I love it, but it is like cooking a large meal. by the time it gets on the table you are sick of it...Still have some quilting and the binding to do.
I did a lot of hand quilting on the central portion and did large leafy vines on the outer sections, with the same color thread as fabric. Now I wish I had reversed the thread, but no way will I redo all of it. It is a bit too plain for me now. I tend to go simple but maybe I need to be more bold in my ideas....<sigh>If anyone has suggestions as to how to punch it up some, I am all ears!
My DS wants a new quilt "before the cold weather" so I am working on that.

I want to finish the hexangonal quilt I am doing with the appliqued Mexican tile designs - of course that and the baby quilt, tablerunner, placemats and then the Christmas stuff - maybe a New Year's resolution? Haha!!!!

(sigh)...to finally have a big enough block of free time to clean out the spare bedroom downstairs for my own quilting room...but with all of the dr. appts. for my Mom and my husband, it's going to be a while...Naomi
Nope...and that's the really frustrating part...I live in another city 15 miles from my Mom...my brother lives with her...he 'occasionally' has a license but doesn't have a car, my younger sister lives less than a mile from Mom but it seems she is always working, next door to her is my older sister who doesn't drive at all(thank goodness)...I have to get groceries for 3 households, plus the dr. appts for everyone...seems like I start to clean the room and someone has another "emergency"...I am 61, and this isn't the "Life" I ordered...lol...Naomi
Bless you, Naomi, you are a wonderful caregiver. I sure do wish some of us lived close enough to help you.

I'd just love to get enough time to finish the one I've been working a year on. I'm doing the Lily Rosenberry quilt, and I'm so sick of berries, I could die. I don't want to ever do a berry again. I'm appliquing the borders now, but I made the mistake of putting the blocks together when I was sick because I have so little time, and they are not right, so I didn't save myself any time. Maybe someday . . . . .

I have purchased at least 10 books with many quilts in them which I really really want to make, crazy I know but I love the planning and dreaming stage so much that I collect ahead so as never to be in danger of not having the right pattern for that fabric I dream of making into just the right quilt :o) I have several in mind right now the strip pieced basket quilt in one of Edyta Sitar's books, a wonderful tree and owl quilt from Whimsicals, and a fun scrap quilt to use up some of my mounting stash :o)

I just cut all the strips for a planned scrappy Irish chain type quilt for my grandson and his girl friend who are getting married in December. I will hand quilt it and that's about all for the rest of this year. Next year, I really really want to make a bargello!

I would like to finish the quilt for my bed. I have everything but the batting. The top and binding are ready to go and the backing is waiting to be washed, pressed, and sewn.

The one I have designed for my antique Jenny Lind spool bed. I am waiting for the new mattress and box springs to arrive to get the exact measurements. I am having them custom made for the bed as it is slightly smaller than a standard double bed, being more than 100 years old!
