Default What quilt pattern would this patch belong to?

My sister bought a box of fabric and there were quite a few of these patches all cut out. No pattern could be found.

Thank You for trying to help.

It might be scraps from a garment factory.

I'm not sure of the name, but it looks like a block that is a flower. There are small gathered pieces that fit between the blades. There is a circle sewn to the center. A Young Man's Invention, or Crown of Thorns, according to the book of Barbara Brackman.

Pretty piece of fabric! Depending on how big those are and, if you don't want to use as they are, how about trimming that top off and use it for a blade in Dresden plate? I hope there is other fabric in the box that it all can come together even if not as originally planned. The original owner would be smiling! When I finish projects such as this that my mother started, I can almost feel her watching and being happy. Time together with her once again, even though she's been gone a lot of years.
