I just don't mention how much it costs because he has no idea how much the fabric is a yard.
He is a keeper. He is building a shop so I can have our over size two car garage for my sewing room. It just might be big enough for my stash. I bought him a motorcycle yesterday so I figure a long arm is in my future.
We both worked hard for the money.

I don't "sneak" I could be a druggie or an alchoholic, this addiction is by far the better choice!!!

I'm happy to say I have never had to sneak anything in. DH will carry it in for me. At times he will shake his head and ask if I really NEED another quilt book or whatever, but he never complains. Of course I don't complain when he gets another tool or whatever he enjoys. We have an agreement that if something costs less than $100 its fair game, if over that we at least mention it to the other. Oh and we don't touch the grocery $$. grin

Maybe we should be inquiring as to creativity to getting it in?? :)

Happy Quilting

what ever i bring in doesn't stay a secret for long.

my husband earns all the money and pays all the bills.

lucky for me he never really says anything.

2 months ago i spent about $600 on quilting stuff and all he said was

"someone had a great time shopping this month"

One day my hubby came into the room and asked me if I was aware of how many quilt books I had? My reply was "and your point?". His was"oh I was just wondering!". He knows about the fabric, because he is planning on redoing the shelves in my closet to better use the space. This was his idea. The other thing is when I went on SS, he told me that that was my money to spend how I want, but I had to buy my clothes out of it. I have gone on two quilt retreats a year, and bought a new sewing machine. And I have a nice savings account as well. It is nice to not have to ask permission or worry about the household budget. Every once in awhile he will look at my balance. This is why I have my own savings account. His suggestion. Granted the interest is just pennies, but I am saving it, not spending it all.

I don't hide anything...my hubby loves the fact that I quilt! I have my hobbies and he has his, why bother hiding the stuff that we love from each other?

He could care less. I stay out of his tool shed and he stays out of my sewing, painting room! Works for us!

lol oh I don't even bother explaining myself anymore, no one [except new quilt buds I have made from this board] quilts so they just don't get it, and no matter how much you explain they still don't get it....they gamble I sew...enough said..lol.
